To multiply fractions, simply multiply the numerators and the denominators of the fractions. Write the answer in lowest term.
To multiply a whole number $n$ and a fraction, then write the whole number in fraction form, $\frac{n}{1}$. Again, simplify when necessary.
In order to achieve the answer in lowest terms then we use the cancellation method.
multiply: $\frac{2}{15} x \frac{3}{8}$
Divide 2 and 8 by its GCF 2.
Divide 3 and 15 by its GCF 3.
Using the first method:
And we got the same result as expected!
